Phu Yen Province is situated in southern central coastal region of Vietnam and a mix of mountainous, coastal, and lowland areas. This province often suffers the effects of natural disasters, and has also borne the consequences of conflicts in the past. This has resulted in a weak infrastructure and relatively undeveloped economy that depends on agriculture and aquaculture.
