Children & Poverty: Global Trends, Local Solutions [archived item. 2005]
On Wednesday 27th April 2005, the Young Lives team gave two presentations, drawn from the project's policy-research experience, at the UNICEF conference Children & Poverty: Global Trends, Local Solutions in New York, where world experts gathered with the aim of sharing knowledge to improve global child poverty policies.
Presentations and discussions at the conference focussed on links between globalisation and child poverty; effectively implementing policies for reducing child poverty; and how to fulfil children's rights.
The Young Lives papers that were be presented are based on the team's findings and activities in Ethiopia and Peru. The two papers are entitled:
