Job Announcement: Young Lives Policy Officer
There is a vacancy currently for a Young Lives full time 1 year post based at Save the Children UK, London. The closing date for applications is Thursday 10th January 2008. This is an exciting opportunity to join Young Lives, based with Save the Children UK (SCUK) which is responsible for leading the policy element of the project.
Key responsibilities:
· To coordinate stakeholder mapping and analysis of the policy environment at international level and within the study countries
· To monitor policy and academic debates on policy themes of relevance to Young Lives and to ensure this information is widely shared across the project
· To support the policy team in analysis of research findings, particularly regarding the key policy themes of social protection and access to basic services
· To organise UK-based and international policy events and produce communications materials to ensure Young Lives research findings are fed into development policy and practice.
· To lead the engagement with Save the Children UK policy and campaigns staff in order to facilitate policy work based on Young Lives research findings and SCUK’s policy objectives.
This is a full-time fixed term contract (12 months) based at Save the Children UK’s headquarters in Farringdon, London.
Salary: £29,620
