More Than a Footnote [March 2006]
DFID White Paper Consultation
The Young Lives submission to DFID's (the UK Department for
International Development) White Paper consultation urged policy makers
to integrate children's concerns into poverty reduction and development
policy, and provided insights into how this can be done. DFID's
consultation document mentioned children only as a footnote, whereas
the Young Lives project emphasised that a holistic assessment of the
impact of development policy on children is necessary in order to
reduce poverty.
