Our publications
We produce a range of publications to present the Young Lives data and analysis and to document our methodology.
Titles in each series are listed with the most recent first. Click on the title of any paper to see an abstract and to access a PDF version of the full text and, where available, a summary, translated versions or related resources.
Working papers present preliminary research and analysis on a range of topics. They are all peer reviewed by external colleagues, but have not been subject to a formal anonymous review.
Technical notes outline the background thinking and methodology that support our work. This includes sample frame and attrition reports, thematic and country-focused literature reviews, reports on piloting and fieldwork, and ethical and practical guidelines.
Policy papers give a quick and thorough briefing on a topic together with the policy-relevant findings.
Our li
st of Journal articles links to the abstracts of papers by Young Lives team members and other researchers who have used the Young Lives data in their work.
Books and book chapters include externally commissioned papers and our new series of books published by Palgrave Macmillan.
Country reports outline the preliminary analysis from each round of the Young Lives survey.
Impact and learning case studies aim to share lessons about using evidence in a policy environment.
Student papers have been written by students using Young Lives data as part of their final examinations at Masters or PhD level.
