On Saturday 29 October 2011 the Young Lives team in India will host a one-day introductory workshop for researchers interested in using the Young Lives data. The workshop will focus on the three waves of data which were collected when the two cohorts of Young Lives study children were aged 1 and 8 (in 2002), 5 and 12 (in 2006), and 8 and 15 (2009).
The event is designed for new and intending users of data from Young Lives and is hosted by the Centre for Economic and Social Studies in Hyderabad, where the Young Lives survey team is based.
The workshop will include presentations on the Young Lives study design and methodology; the sample and fieldwork in Andhra Pradesh; an overview of Round 3 findings; the strength of panel data analysis; programmes and policies on children; and how the Young Lives data can best be used.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and participant questions.
This is an invitation-only event. For further information, please contact Dr P Prudhvikar Reddy at CESS (prudhvikar_at_cess.ac.in)
Funding: This workshop was funded as part of the Economic and Social Research Council grant: Developing and refining methods for comparative cross-national research on poverty and vulnerability: Drawing on Young Lives’ and WeD’s experience.
