Emily Cracknell joined the Young Lives team as Communications Officer in October 2019. She leads on communications for a new ESRC funded project to help build a community of practice around methodological learning and lessons from Young Lives. She works alongside the Communications Manager to deliver communications outputs for the Young Marriage and Parenthood Study (YMAPS) and provides broad communications support across Young Lives projects, website and digital platforms.
Emily has previous experience in communications, events, marketing, film and administration. Prior to joining Young Lives, Emily worked for the Bill and Melinda Gates funded Pathway for Prosperity Commission, based at the Blavatnik School of Government, where her work included video and documentary production, website development, social media campaigns, copywriting for the commission as well as the delivery of high-profile events internationally and within the UK.
Emily has wide experience of writing across multiple disciplines from scripts to copy, articles to poetry. She's written articles for The Independent, film reviews for Dear Cast and Crew, created and edited poetry for copywriting group '26' and written scripts for diverse projects. Emily holds a post-graduate diploma in Writing for Film and Television from the Vancouver Film School and a degree in Scandinavian Studies from University College London.
