Kiros works as a research assistant and communications coordinator for Young Lives in Ethiopia. Prior to joining Young Lives, Kiros worked with various organisations with distinct programmes. These included behaviour change communication activities on HIV/AIDS, psychosocial support for people living with HIV/AIDS and orphan children, and economic support for people with disability. Kiros has also worked with many national and international research projects covering a wide range of topics including gender, education, nutrition, reproductive health and poverty. She has also worked as a freelance researcher before joining Young Lives Ethiopia. Her research interests are in education, reproductive health and nutrition.
She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Haramaya University, a joint programme between the Addis Continental Institute of Public Health and Haramaya University(2009) and a B.A. in Sociology and Social Administration from Addis Ababa University (2003).
