Celina Proffen

Biography

Celina is currently a Ph.D. student in Economics at the University of Frankfurt, engaging in political economy and labor market research. One central paper of her dissertation is concerned with the implications of electrification programs on labor market conditions and family dynamics. In this context, she visited the Young Lives Team in Oxford in 2022 and worked extensively on matching Young Lives data with geodata on the Ethiopian electricity grid expansion. 

Previously, Celina has studied at the University of Bonn and University Carlos III Madrid and visited the University of California, Berkeley. She also worked as a Consultant for the World Bank and interned at various institutions at the intersection of research and policy.
