Everyone Counts is an engaging resource which supports key elements of the maths curriculum for 8- to 12-year-olds. Using real-life data about children living in four countries around the world, pupils will develop their skills and understanding of topics such as time and data handling. There is a well-established link between various measures of socioeconomic status and the schooling achievement and cognition of children. However, less is known about how cognitive development is impacted by childhood improvements in growth, a common indicator of child nutritional status. This study examines the relationship between socioeconomic status and child growth and changes in cognitive achievement scores in adolescents from resource-poor settings.
