Grace Chang

Biography

Grace is a Quantitative Researcher, interested in research about young people’s time use, skills, and wellbeing. She has experience conducting research about topics in international development, economics, demography, and survey methodology. She has a background in Economics (MSc), University of Warwick, and a PhD in Demography/Social Policy from the London School of Economics.

She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Southampton, specialising in survey methods assessing the quality of the UK Generations and Gender Survey, an online only survey examining the demographic transitions of young adults across the life course, and complex fertility and partnerships in light of recent events such as the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit.

Prior to her current role, Grace has worked in a Malaysian government-linked think-tank group, working on issues of social mobility and poverty. She was a research analyst at Young Lives where she has worked closely with the team on research projects related to environment shocks, skills development, and young people’s transition to adulthood
