Biography

Mobarak Hossain is a Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow in Sociology at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, where he also obtained his DPhil in social policy. In January 2024, he will begin his role as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. 

His current research mainly focuses on intergenerational educational mobility, and educational and labour market inequalities by social origins and gender across low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). He has also published research on education system reforms in LMICs and cross-border policy diffusion in the education sector.
