Richard Freund

Biography

Richard joined the Young Lives Team as a Quantitative Research Assistant in 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. His research thus far has focused on asset-based inequality and multidimensional child poverty.  

During his studies, Richard co-founded a non-profit organisation, Periods For Hope, that aims to empower female and male learners through the provision of reusable sanitary products and sexual health workshops. He has also completed internships at economic consulting firms DNA Economics and Vivid Economics.
