Sophie joined the Young Lives Team as a Quantitative Research Assistant in 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Global Business Management from the University of Augsburg and a Master’s degree in Development Economics and International Studies from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her master thesis explored the impact of road infrastructure on smallholder Costa Rican farmers using household and geospatial data.
While completing her Master’s degree, she worked as a research assistant at the FAU’s Chair of Development Economics. She also completed internships at the British Consulate General with the Department of International Trade, development NGO Germanwatch, and worked with a Hungarian NGO fostering economic development of rural youth.
